Bank Settings

Mango allows one or more Banks to be used for tracking deposits. Banks can also used for QuickBooks integration, as long as they are named identically in both applications. At least one bank must be configured before creating a deposit.

Accessing Bank Settings

You can access Banks from the main toolbar.

  1. Click Settings (Settings).
  2. Click General Settings General Settings.
  3. Click the Bank Banks tab

Banks

At the top of the window, the + Add button can be used to add a new bank.

The Global Search field can be used to locate records containing specific text. Once specified, an indicator will be displayed showing how many records contain that text. To clear the search, click the red X icon to the right of the field.

You can click on the header of the Bank Name column to sort the records shown by the values in that column. Click the header again to reverse the sort.

Select the Show Inactive check box if you want to only see inactive banks.

Adding New Banks

You can add new banks from the Banks list.

  1. Click + Add to display the Banks entry window.
  2. Specify a Bank Name.
  3. Optionally set the Default Bank option to set this bank as the new default. The prior default will have this option cleared. The default bank will be selected by default in the Deposits window. For additional information, see the Deposits article.
  4. Set the No Deposits check box to mark the bank as not accepting deposits for reporting purposes only. Deposits can still be created for banks with this check box selected. Clear this check box if deposits are allowed for this bank.
  5. Set the Inactive check box to hide the bank in the list unless the Show Inactive check box is selected. Clear this check box to enable the bank.
  6. Click ✓ Save & Close.

Editing Banks

To change existing activities in the Banks list, a couple options are available.

You can click in the Inactive column to mark the bank as inactive. This will hide the bank in the list unless the Show Inactive check box is selected.

The Actions column provides options to perform an action on a specific entry.

  • Click the Edit (Edit) icon to open the Banks entry window, allowing access to any field in the record. Make any changes and then click ✓ Save.
  • Click the Delete (Delete) icon to delete the current record. You will be prompted to confirm the action.

Common Questions About Banks

We receive cash payments that will not be deposited. How can be track these in Mango?
We recommend that you create a Bank record named “Cash – Not Deposited” to track cash receipts that will not be deposited.
