QuickBooks Integration

Mango allows you to synchronize clients and accounts receivable with QuickBooks, making it easy for accountants who need to use both systems.

Overview of QuickBooks Integration

Integration with QuickBooks happens in two ways:

  1. When first enabled, Mango will pull any clients and accounts receivable balances from QuickBooks as a one-time sync. This ensures that all existing information in QuickBooks exists in Mango.
  2. Thereafter, deposits made in Mango will automatically be synchronized to QuickBooks. This helps prevent the need for duplicate entry, and keeps both systems in balance.

Comparing Integration Settings

Before enabling integration, verify that all of the following match between Mango and QuickBooks.

Verify Payment Methods

All payment methods in Mango and QuickBooks must be named identically. The Check, Credit Card, ACH, Cash, Write-Off, and Credit Memo payment methods in Mango cannot be edited or deleted. Therefore, make sure that these payment methods exist in QuickBooks with identical names. If any other payment methods exist in QuickBooks, add them to Mango with identical names from General Settings.

  1. Click Settings (Settings).
  2. Click General Settings General Settings.
  3. Click on the Lists Lists tab.
  4. Select Payment Methods.
  5. Click + Add.
  6. Specify the Payment Description.
  7. Click ✓ Save & Close.

Verify Engagement Names

All engagements in Mango must be named identically to the service name in QuickBooks. You can change the engagement name in Mango from General Settings.

  1. Click Settings (Settings).
  2. Click General Settings General Settings.
  3. Click on the Lists Lists tab.
  4. Select Engagement Types.
  5. Click the Edit (Edit) icon in the Action column.
  6. Update the Description.
  7. Click ✓ Save & Close.

Verify Bank Names

All banks in Mango and QuickBooks must be named identically. Note that account or routing numbers do not need to match, only the bank name. You can change the bank name in Mango from General Settings.

  1. Click Settings (Settings).
  2. Click General Settings General Settings.
  3. Click the Banks Banks tab.
  4. Click the Edit (Edit) icon in the Action column.
  5. Update the Bank Name.
  6. Click ✓ Save.
