Why Track Time?

If your staff doesn’t track their time, you are missing out on tracking your profitability.

Fortunately, Mango makes it easy to track everyone’s time efficiently and accurately. Once time is entered, you can generate invoices, review time allocation, and keep your clients updated. Mango eliminates the frustrations that often accompany time tracking and creating invoices for accountants.

Historically, accountants were plagued with Excel files, sticky notes, and jumbled receipts that needed to be entered before an invoice could be created. Not with Mango! Working outside of the office, or visiting a client? In a business meeting? No matter what device you’re on or where you’re working, you can start a timer on your phone, tablet, or desktop to get an accurate time log that can instantly be converted to an invoice, which can just as easily be paid online by your clients! Even if you can’t use your phone, you can easily add time based on your calendar.

And Mango makes it simple, with an intuitive pop-up time entry window. Your team can focus on performing their billable hours, not wasting time with tedious manual timekeeping.

Tracking Time in Mango

Mango offers four different ways to track your time and maximize your profits:

Time Sheet Entry

Mango’s time sheet allows you to view records for a specific staff member by week or on a specific day. Each day has its own list of time records, and you can easily see their total worked and billable hours. The All tab shows all time and expense entries, along with totals, for the entire week. This view is ideal when entering daily time for yourself, or on behalf of a single staff member.

Additional information can be found in the Time Sheet Entry article.

Time Card Entry

The time card entry shows your whole week, and allows you to easily see totals for each day. Additionally, you can easily add new time just by adding a new row and selecting the client, activity, and hours. This view is ideal when entering weekly time for yourself or on behalf of another staff member when working on the same clients throughout the week.

Additional information can be found in the Time Card Entry article.

Batch Time Entry

The batch time entry uses a spreadsheet-like interface to easily add multiple new records at the same time. This makes it ideal for repetitive client work, and to perform time tracking for day-to-day tasks.

Additional information can be found in the Batch Time Entry article.

Live Timers

Mango lets you create separate timers for each type of work you do—even for the same client—and seamlessly swap between them without losing any time. Use different timers throughout the day, allowing you to avoid any confusion about how much time is spent on administrative tasks and how much is spent on client work.

Additional information can be found in the Timers article.

Time Entry

The pop-up time entry window is available in the Quick Links anywhere in Mango, making it easy to track time. It is also used to add and make edits to time tracking records from any of the other windows.

Additional information can be found in the Time Entry article.

Convert to Invoices

Once your time has been tracked, it’s easy to turn that into an invoice with Mango! Bill for your time promptly and professionally by automatically converting meeting records into branded invoices.

Additional information can be found in the Invoicing Overview article.
