Client Engagements in Mango
Mango provides a number of systems for supporting clients and engagements:
Client Entry
Clients in Mango contain contact information for the client, settings to control how they are billed and can pay, their current balances, and lists of their engagements, invoices, payments, time, expenses, contacts, notes, projects, schedules, budgets, and to-dos. To select a client, the Lookup View allows you to search for a client name, whereas the Table View provides a list of all clients.
Additional information can be found in the Client List and Client View articles.
Client Contacts
Although each client has contact information, additional client contacts can be created. This can include other people who need access to the client portal, alternative billing contacts for invoices or statements, related parties for specific engagements, and any other people you may need to contact for a client. Mango allows you to create an unlimited number of contact records.
Additional information can be found in the Client Contacts article.
Engagement Entry
An engagement is a service, singular or ongoing, performed on behalf of a client. This can be general, like “Professional Services” or “Tax Preparation,” or as specific as “Will & Trust” or “2024 IRS 1040 Filing.”
An engagement is generally assigned to a staff member, who will track time entry, billable expenses, and invoices to this engagement. Notes, projects, and contacts can also be added to an engagement as necessary.
Additional information can be found in the Engagement List article.
Engagement Letters
Mango makes it easy to create legally-binding engagement letters, fast. An engagement letter is a pillar of professionalism and customer satisfaction, that explicitly defines the scope of services, expectations, and limitations in your engagement. This prevents misunderstandings and conflicts with your clients.
You can maintain and customize a library of engagement letter templates, then easily use those to create proposals for your clients. Engagement letters are an additional service, offered in addition to Mango.
Additional information can be found in the Engagement Letters article.
Client Portal
Mango allows you to interact with your clients in a secure, customized, and easy-to-use client portal. Clients can access their invoices, make payments, view shared files, and electronically sign documents all in one place.
Additional information can be found in the Configuring the Client Portal and Using the Client Portal articles.
